Warner Bros. has finally set a release date – May 25, 2019 – for “Minecraft”, the film adaptation of the popular video game. “Minecraft” is currently expected to be presented in 3D and on Imax.
No cast members have yet been signed for the movie, which will be directed by Rob McElhenney, the co-creator of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” sitcom.
While Warner Bros. bought the rights for a movie version of “Minecraft” two years ago, the project was delayed when the initial set of director and writers were rejected before McElhenney was brought in.
